  Last week I brought my 92 year old, wheelchair bound friend to Osteria for lunch. With her age and infirmity, it is no small feat to dine in public. As a precaution, I telephoned ahead to inquire if the establishment was wheelchair accessible and I was assured it WAS. Our service was mediocre and slow and at times the server was inappropriately condescending in her speech to my guest. My Panini was hard as a brick and the server was unable to make the espresso I ordered. After our meal, my friend needed to use the ladies room. Imagine our horror and outrage to discover there were stairs in the hall leading to the ladies room. I asked another server if there was a ramp to place on the stairs and was rudely told no, it was not the restaurant's issue as it merely rented space in the building. Thankfully a wonderful patron assisted in lifting the wheelchair up the stairs so my friend could use the bathroom and be spared the indignity of incontinence in public. NO staff offered to help. I would give the establishment a negative rating if possible .Callously indifferent to the disabled elderly. Shameful.
